Do you buy clothing from the public?
Yes, we buy large lots of vintage, estates, closet clean outs. Typically the minimum purchase is 50 pieces, but we'll always consider unique and higher value items in lower quantities.

What is your return policy?
Due to the nature of our products, ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
We work hard to grade products accurately. Be sure to check the listing closely and if you have questions, we'll answer them as soon as possible before you purchase an item.
You are welcome to see the product before purchasing it by making special arrangements to visit our store. Please provide 48 hours notice and we'll have it ready for you to try on.
May I pick up my ONLINE purchase in-store?
Yes. AFTER purchasing you will given the opportunity to pick-up your webstore order at our upstairs store, Black Market VIntage, a couple of days after the purchase date.
NOTE: Items for sale on our webstore are kept offsite and are NOT available for trying on or inspection in the store until AFTER purchasing.
Can I find/try on webstore items in the bricks and mortar stores?
No. All items for sale online are ONLINE ONLY.
After purchasing ONLINE, you may choose to pick-up your purchase in one of our stores.
You may inspect it and try it on at the store on that visit. If you are not completely happy at that time, you may receive an in-store credit or a refund. Once removed from the store, there are no refunds or exchanges.

Shipping charges are extra and subject to the carrier's terms and conditions.
A tracking number is provided. All parcels are shipped "NO signature required".
Insurance for lost packages is the Canada Post basic package unless specified prior to checkout. Under no circumstances can this be altered.

Local Pickup
Local pickup orders are typically ready within 24 hours. Please wait until you have received email confirmation that your order is ready before coming to pick it up. Please have your order number ready when picking up your order and call for store hours before coming. Please note that parking on Queen Street is not allowed after 3 p.m.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is calculated based on your location and the items in your order. You will always know the shipping price before you purchase.
Did you used to be at Public Butter 1290 Queen West at Dufferin Street
Yes! That's our original location in Parkdale. We moved in 2025 to our new home in Kensingto Market. We still have the store at Queen and Dufferin. It sells most of our clearance items for $10 or less. Sometimes we have all VINTAGE on sale for $4/pound. Be sure to check our social media channels to catch our next sale!
